Battlefield 3: Official Fault Line Gameplay Trailer and review

It’s been rumored that Battlefield 3, which is being developed by the Swedish game development studio EA’s Digital Illusions CE (DICE), could be a Call of Duty-killer.
Now, Marc Saltzman of Game Hunters has revealed a sit down with Patrick Bach, executive producer on the game, at a New York media event.
“Battlefield 3 takes place in the year 2014, and the mission we saw takes place on the Iran-Iraq border. You’re part of a U.S. Marine-led coalition to restore stability to the region — a difficult task given the rise in terrorist activity from the PLR insurgency group. The demo starts with you hopping out of the truck with your fellow soldiers and walking through narrow streets to a briefing area to get instructions on your first mission: investigate an alleged chemical weapons site.”, writes Marc.

Black Ops Zombies, Call of Duty franchise helped by ‘walking dead’ supporting cast
Creepy and addicting, Call of Duty has featured a strong supporting cast of zombies that begun with the 2008 release of Call of Duty: World at War.
Games like Call of Duty have become hugely popular, not just because of the realistic gameplay set in different war periods, but because of the zombie mode that players have come to love.
The fact is, the data doesn’t lie as provided by search popularity of zombies in Google’s search engine.
To give you an idea of just how popular zombies are in Black Ops, the exact phrase “black ops zombies” was searched globally over half a million times last month, according to Google Adwords, a search-based keyword tool that shows the number of actual queries made by people from around the globe. The phrase “black ops zombie” had nearly a quarter of a million exact searches, at 246,000 queries.
This week saw more excitement in the zombie-hunter community.
Zombie mode for Call of Duty Black Ops by Treyarch, got a healthy dose of fixes in Title Update 7 as reported by MTV’s gaming blog.
• Addressed an issue where the most recent match played in Zombies could overwrite the best match played on the leaderboard.
• Improved Zombies lobbies to prevent players from erroneously receiving the error “Unable to join game session” under certain circumstances.
• Addressed a number of community-discovered Zombies gameplay exploits.
Also, Treyarch, the developers behind Call of Duty: Black Ops, released a short trailer providing a different look at Ascension, one of five new maps in First Strike. As written on the Treyarch blog, “And, for those dying to begin the next chapter in the suspenseful co-op Zombies saga, Ascension offers the largest map yet, introducing new weapons, transports, perks, and enemies.”

Bulletstorm Review: 3.5 out of 4 stars from “Game Hunters”
The Game Hunters crew over at USA Today has posted a review of Bullestorm calling it “an audacious action game that gives the shooter genre a needed shot in the arm” and gave the first-person shooter 3.5 out of 4 stars.
“Don’t expect too much from the story. It’s a simple tale of revenge, featuring some lowbrow humor that gets old pretty quick. But players aren’t likely here for an enriching plot but to fulfill the premise of Bulletstorm: killing with skill. It’s not enough to just take down enemies, but to do so in the most imaginative ways possible.”, writes Brett Molina for USA Today.
Here are some newly added images of Bulletstorm by Electronic Arts that were posted to the web by Michael Klappenbach over at About.com.
Roundup: Killzone 3 in 3-D
The highly anticipated Killzone 3 was officially released this week. It’s one of many titles slated for the Playstation3 in 3-D. There are a frenzy of stories. So what’s all the hype about?
Here’s a round up of some of the headlines out there on the web.
Lazygamer posted a review Killzone 3 after playing the game on a 3D TV with the motion controlled Sharpshooter accessory, describing the gameplay as a whole heap of fun. While the price point of 3D televion sets might be a little high right now for the average player, Gavin Mannion writes, “Sony will soon be launching a 3D TV’s for the budget-conscious gamer. The Sony Bravia KDL-32EX720; a 32 inch, 1080p, LED-backlit 3D TV will be available locally around April.”
James Brightman for Business Insider says Killzone 3 is a shining example what’s possible graphically on the PS3, and that the company would love to see more development studios support 3D and Move.
Speaking of the Move, Tim Hanlon for Gizmag reviewed Killzone 3 with the Move. “Move is by far the best controller yet…and turns Killzone 3 from a fantastic first-person shooter to the most immersive, visceral experience you’ll find on a console today.”

Confirmed: Danger Close Games to develop “Medal of Honor” sequel
Greg Goodrich, exectuive producer of Medal of Honor, officially confirmed earlier this week that Danger Close, (dangerclosegames.com) is developing the sequel to the first-person shooter Medal of Honor, continuing the popular franchise. The latest release of Medal of Honor which started selling in stores in October 2010, has already sold 5 million copies worldwide.
“Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor.”, writes Greg on the Medal of Honor blog.
“Since our launch last October, we’ve studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title. We can’t wait to tell you more about it, so check back often to the website and the fan page on Facebook.”
News of Danger Close developing the next MoH title, confirms rumors that had been swirling around early last month, after Danger Close posted job openings. As I wrote about in January, Jonathan Leack, a writer for Playstation Lifestyle, noticed Danger Close studio has some job openings to work on an unannounced AAA first person shooter title, which some writers and bloggers have rumored to be the next title in the Medal of Honor series.
In case you haven’t seen or played Medal of Honor, here’s a look E3 Multiplayer trailer released last year.

Rumor: Microsoft developing Halo Kinect for Xbox 360
Let the rumor mill begin.
According to reports by a number of gaming blogs, Microsoft registered the domain name KinectHalo.com back in June 2010. The domain, which is registered to Microsoft Corporation based on Whois records, currently resolves to Bing search engine results, http://www.bing.com/search?q=kinecthalo&form=MSSRPD.
If you’re wondering whether the reverse is taken, HaloKinect.com – it is.
The name HaloKinect is registered to a Christian Jenkins, who registered the name in July 2010. If Microsoft decides to develop Halo Kinect for the Xbox 360, you can almost guarantee that Microsoft will go after the domain, as it has “successfully” for other Kinect-related domain names in recent weeks.
Just because Microsoft registers a domain name though, doesn’t mean the company has plans to develop it. Although, Halo gamers are certainly hoping. A good example of a company purchasing domain names, but not developing them, is Activision, who last year plucked up several domains for potential Call of Duty titles.
Here’s a video that shows what Halo Reach just might look like with Kinect.
